UNITAN ATO is Spraydried Quebracho Vegetable Tannin extract chemically treated to transform the insolubles inherent in Quebracho Colorado Tree to offer the highest tannin content among other vegetable tannin agents.

UNITAN ATO may be used in all vegetable and mixed tanning and retanning processes, by itself or combined with other vegetable extracts or synthetic products. It is the most versatile vegetable extract and the most widely used in the world.

Ultrafine Tara Powder
Product Overview
The Ultrafine Tara Powder UNITAN TM is a material source of tannins that come from the milling of the Tara pod (Caesalpinea Spinoza). The tannins that get UNITAN TM are pyrogallol and can be hydrolysed with acids and enzymes. It is used for all kind of leather with vegetal or mixed vegetable characteristics to make upholstery, automotive and garment leather. It is also used to prepare dyeing ferric salts and as mordant of dyeing and printing of fabrics.
The Tara produces a leather which can be more easily dyed with a particular light colour. UNITAN TM is appropriate for vegetalized leathers that require a good light fastness. Together with adequate oils it is possible to obtain good fogging values.
